PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To efficiently remove a mist generated from a production apparatus in a liquid crystal plant, or the like.
SOLUTION : A mist removal apparatus 10 is attached to various apparatus using a chemical, for removing a chemical mist contained in an exhaust gas G from the apparatus, and uses a non-woven fabric comprising a polyolefin fiber as a filter 11 for capturing the mist to be removed. The filter is arranged in a raised posture to be along with the vertical plane, the density of the fiber along with the horizontal direction is relatively made lower than that in the vertical direction, and a dropping route is so secured that a re-requefied chemical component naturally drops along with the fiber in the vertical direction without blocking the fiber in the horizontal direction. It is preferable that the surface of the filter has a sprinkler mechanism 13 for sprinkling washing water, and a sprinkler pipe formed with a number of sprinkling holes at predetermined intervals on the lower peripheral surface may be used as the sprinkler mechanism.
