PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a rare earth permanent magnet with a protective layer arranged on a surface and which is fully superior in corrosion resistance, especially from the viewpoint of surface shape.SOLUTION : The magnet is provided with a magnet element comprising a rare earth element and the protective layer 14 formed on the surface of the magnet element.
