PURPOSE : A magnesium alloy which is suitable for the commercialization since the magnesium alloy possesses excellent heat resistance at a temperature of 150 deg.C or more and is more inexpensive than a conventionally developed heat resistant magnesium alloy is provided. CONSTITUTION : A heat resistant magnesium alloy comprises 2 to 11 wt.%% of aluminum, 0.1 to 5.0 wt.%% of strontium, and magnesium and inevitable impurities as the balance, comprises 2 to 11 wt.%% of aluminum, and 0.1 to 5.0 wt.%% of misch metal, and magnesium and inevitable impurities as the balance, or comprises 2 to 11 wt.%% of aluminum, 0.1 to 5.0 wt.%% of strontium, and 0.1 to 5.0 wt.%% of misch metal, and magnesium and inevitable impurities as the balance. The heat resistant magnesium alloy further comprises 1.5 wt.%% or less of manganese. © KIPO 2007
