PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a catalyst material, its production method, and a diesel particulate filter, which raises the carbon combustion rate and improve the light-off performance and also the high-temperature purification performance. SOLUTION : The catalyst material for removing a diesel particulate consists of a double oxide containing mainly Zr and a rare earth metal excepting Ce and Y, wherein the crystallite diameter of the oxide is 13 nm or above and 40 nm or below. Its production method comprises the step of obtaining a co-precipitation precursor which contains mainly Zr and the rare earth metal excepting Ce and Y, and the step of calcining the co-precipitation precursor in air atmosphere and in the temperature range of 700°C or above and 1, 200°C or below.
