PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a high performance iron group rare-earth permanent magnet which is superior in the heat resistance, in particular, in the thermal demagnetization characteristics. SOLUTION : The iron group rare-earth permanent magnet has a composition formula represented by (Fe1-nTn)100-x-y-z-l(B1-pCp)xRyM1zM2l, and is substantially comprises an Nd2Fe14B-type crystal phase and a non-magnetic grain boundary phase. The M1 element mainly exists in the grain boundary phase. Here, T denotes one kind or more of elements selected from among a group consisting of Co and Ni; R denotes one kind or more of rare-earth elements containing Y (yttrium), M1 denotes at least one kind of element selected from among a group consisting of Zr, Nb, V, Mo, Cr, Hf, Ta and W; and M2 denotes at least one kind of element selected from among a group consisting of Si, Al, Ga, Cu, Ag, Au, Zn, Sn, Pb, In and Bi. Composition ratios x, y, z, l, n and p have a composition which satisfies 3≤x≤10 atom%, 10≤y≤12 atom%, 0.1≤z≤2 atom%, 0 ≤l≤5 atom%, 0≤n≤0.5, 0≤p≤0.5 and x/y≥0.5, respectively.
