PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a light amplifying module and a laser source capable of suppressing the occurrence of photo darkening. SOLUTION : The laser source 1 comprises a light source 10 to be amplified and a light amplifying module 20. The light amplifying module 20 comprises a first light amplifying medium 21, a second light amplifying medium 22, and an excitation unit 23. The excitation unit 23 includes an excitation source 24 and an optical coupler 25. The second amplifying medium 22 has a rare-earth element concentration higher than that of the first light amplifying medium 21. Excitation light outputted by the excitation unit 23 is first propagated to the first amplifying medium 21 and then to the second amplifying medium 22. COPYRIGHT : (C)2007, JPO&INPIT
