The invention relates to the preparation of a material including/understanding a mixture of nanoparticules of metal nobleet of rare earth oxide nanoparticules. The process includes/understands the following successive stages : a) preparation of a metal alloy including/understanding at least a noble metal selected in the group comprenantles elements Ru, Rh, Ir, Ag, With, Pd, Pt, Ni, Cu, and at least a rare earth selected in the group comprenantles elements, This, Pr, Nd, Pm, Sm, Have, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, er, Tm, Yb, Lu, Y, Sc, the aforementioned alloy containing unephase crystallized whose composition out of rare earth is higher than 10% atomic and whose noble enmétal composition lies between 25 and 75% atomic; b) oxidation of metal alloy obtained during the stage a), under oxidizing atmosphere. The invention also has as an aim a material including/understanding mixture of a noble metal nanoparticules etde nanoparticules of rare earth oxides, as well as the use of such a material in particular for the catalysis.
