PURPOSE : Provided are a cathode catalyst for a fuel cell, which is superior in catalytic activity for the reduction of an oxidant, and a cathode electrode for a fuel cell comprising the same, which has excellent catalytic activity. CONSTITUTION : The cathode catalyst for a fuel cell comprises a metal oxide represented by a formula 1 of Co_xM_yO_z, wherein M is a rare earth element, x is 40-60, y is 25-30, and z is 10-35. The cathode electrode(5) for a fuel cell includes an electrode substrate(31) and a catalytic layer(33) formed on the electrode substrate(31), wherein the catalytic layer(33) comprises the cathode catalyst including metal oxide represented by the formula 1. © KIPO 2007
