An alloy contains (wt.%) : Co (24-26); Al (9-13); Re (1.0-4.0); Y (0.1-0.65); and/or at least one element Sc, a rare earth element, and optionally Cr (99-24), Zr (0.1-0.7), Ti (0.2-0.4) and Ga : Independent claims are also included for the following : (i) a protective layer for protecting a component (1) against corrosion and oxidation, especially at high temperatures and of the above composition; and (ii) a gas turbine component with a protective layer (7) for protection against corrosion and oxidation.
