PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To manufacture a tape-shaped rare-earth group oxide superconductor having excellent properties by using a substrate excellent in surface smoothness and orientation.
SOLUTION : An Ni-W alloy formed into a predetermined thickness by cold working is subjected to orientation heat treatment at a temperature of 900 to 1, 300°C to manufacture a two-axis oriented tape. The tape is electropolished to form a tape-shaped substrate 1 with a surface smoothness of 5 nm or less, on the surface of which a medium layer 2 made of a Ce-Zr-O film and a medium layer 3 made of a Ce-Gd-O film are formed in order. After that, an oxide superconductor layer 4 is formed on it to manufacture a tape-shaped rare-earth group oxide superconductor 10.
