PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To enable all the components contained in scrap and/or sludge of a rare earth magnet to be simultaneously recycled, to improve separatability the slag occuring in from the molten metal, and to obtain a molten metal ingot at a high yield. SOLUTION : This method for remelting the scrap and/or the sludge of a R-Fe-B-based (R is a rare earth element including Y) rare earth magnet, includes charging a raw metal for magnet containing no rare earth element into a melting furnace crucible, heating and melting it, adding the scrap and/or the sludge of the R-Fe-B-based rare earth magnet to the melt together with a raw metal containing a rare earth element, of 0.1-50 wt.% with respect to the total raw metals, and furtheremore adding a flux with a mean diameter of 1-50 μm containing halides of a metal selected among an alkali metal, an alkaline earth metal, or a rare earth metal, of 0.01-30 wt.% with respect to the total raw metals, and melting them.
