PURPOSE : Provided is a method for preparing spherical rare earth red phosphor particles by droplet-particle conversion, whereby phosphor particles having high uniformity and high brightness are produced on a large scale. CONSTITUTION : The method for preparing spherical rare earth red phosphor particles by droplet-particle conversion comprises the steps of : adding an acid to a rare-earth metal oxide to prepare a starting material having a rare earth metal ion of 0.005-2.0M; adding a urea to the starting material; making the admixture into droplets by an ultrasonic spraying method; subjecting the droplets to evaporation, drying, and pyrolysis to convert the droplets into particles; and washing and drying the obtained particles to obtain powder. © KIPO 2007
