PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a spherical cyclodextrin compound which can easily be handled, resists to continuous column operations, and can industrially be used, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION : This cyclodextrin compound containing a photo cross-linking group. Preferably, a method for producing the cyclodextrin monomer compound containing the photo cross-linking group comprises reacting (1) a product obtained from a diisocyanate compound and a compound having the photo cross-linking group with (2) cyclodextrin. Furthermore, a method for producing the cyclodextrin monomer compound containing the spherical photo cross-linking group comprises mixing (a) the cyclodextrin monomer compound containing the photo cross-linking group with (b) at least one of aqueous solutions consisting of alginic acid salt aqueous solutions and aspartic acid salt aqueous solutions, and (c) dropwisely adding the mixture solution to an alkaline earth metal halide aqueous solution.
