PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a co-dope and multiplex co-dope lutetium-based oxyorthosilicate scintillator (crystal and ceramic) having improved photonic property such as improved radiation resistance.
SOLUTION : The present invention relates to a series of multiplex dope cerium activated scintillation material of a solid solution mainly containing rare earth silicate, containing lutetium and having a composition represented by the chemical formula : (Lu2-w-x+2yAwCexSi1-y)1-zMezJjOq and (Lu2-w-x-2yAwCexSi1+y)1-zMezJjOq. The present invention is useful for detection of an element particle and an atom core in high energy physics, atomic industry; medical, positron emission tomography (TOF PET and DOI PET scanner) and single photon emission type computer tomography (SPECT), positron emission tomography with magnetic resonance imaging method (PET/MR); X ray computer fluorography; airport security system and non-destruction test of a solid structure such as gamma ray system for inspection of track and container for cargo.
