PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a rear earth sintered magnet wherein its residual magnetic-flux density is improved in comparison with the case of Al and Cu being added to it, while exhibiting its coercive force nearly equal to its coercive force obtained in the case of Al and Cu being added to it. SOLUTION : The rear earth sintered magnet contains rear earth elements R of 12.0-15.0 atom% (R are one or more elements selected from the group comprising Nd, Pr, Gd, Tb, Dy, and Ho, and contain Nd/Pr not less than 50%), B of 5.5-8.5 atom%, Ni of 0.005-0.40 atom%, Fe of the residual portion, and unavoidable impurities.
