PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a straight tube fluorescent lamp and a manufacturing method of a straight tube fluorescent lamp without generating a central dark space at the time of initial lighting by a user, even if an amount of mercury sealing is very small with 5 mg or less. SOLUTION : The straight tube fluorescent lamp is provided with a mercury support holding mercury near one end part of a glass tube, makes mercury emit from the mercury support into the glass tube after introducing rare gas. Before lighting for the first time by a user, mercury of 20 to 80% held by the mercury support exists on a half of a side without having mercury support of the glass tube.
