PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To remarkably improve torque by forming a plurality of magnetic poles on a flat surface and allowing at least two adjacent magnetic poles of flat plate magnetic poles to have polar anisotropy. SOLUTION : After an R-T-B alloy is pulverized roughly, material powder is made by fine pulverization using a jet mill. Next, after the material powder is filled in a flat plate cavity, while an orientation magnetic field is applied, which energizes an oblate ellipsoidal coil formed on the side of an upper punch and provides the cavity with flat plate bipolar anisotropy, compression molding is carried out by the upper punch and a lower punch. An obtained compact undergoes sintering, cooling, and machining to a predetermined size. And then, the compact is heated and cooled. Consequently, it is possible to obtain a flat plate multipolar anisotropy sintering magnet, in which an R2T14B intermetallic compound (R is at least one of rare earth elements including Y, and T is Fe or Fe and Co) is a main phase and two magnetic poles 21 have polar anisotropy.
