The present invention relates to a natural or artificial seed intended for sowing and treated, characterized in that it contains a nonphytotoxic quantity of marking, detectable by analysis, of a combination of at least two rare earths, in a report/ratio of concentration significantly different from those that one naturally finds in the ground, this report/ratio being different from a factor from at least 2 compared to that one naturally finds in the ground, preferentially of a factor ranging between 2 and 4. The invention relates to also the process of obtaining this seed, the process for the identification of the origin and the date of the treatment of the seed and the composition for the treatment of this seed. The seed of the invention is usable in agriculture.
