PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a cooling accelerating mechanism by which thin strips are immediately made into cast pieces, cooled and fed to a cooling vessel during the time after making a molten metal of an alloy containing rare earth elements into the thin strips by performing primary cooling with a water-cooled roll until secondary cooling is performed by housing crushed cast pieces in the cooling vessel in a vacuum melting and casting apparatus.
SOLUTION : By providing a cooling guide 40 provided with a cooling part 41 for colliding, crushing and making the thin strips of an alloy containing rare earth elements which are flown by peeling off from the water-cooled roll 30 into casing pieces, also cooling and making them slip down in the position opposing to the water-cooled roll 30 and providing a water-cooled rotary fin 50 for receiving, colliding and cooling the cast pieces which are fallen from the lower end of the cooling guide 40, cooling is performed in the time until the cast pieces reach the cooling vessel 80.
