PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a rare earth magnet having high strength and high resistance. SOLUTION : In the rare earth magnet having such a texture as R-Fe-B based rare earth magnet particles 8 are surrounded by a high strength high resistance compound layer 2, the high strength high resistance compound layer 2 consists of a glass principal layer 6 having a texture of glass phase to which R oxide particles are dispersed or not dispersed, an R oxide particle principal mixture layer 7 formed on the opposite sides of the glass principal layer with an R rich alloy phase containing 50 atom% or more of R existing in the grain boundary of the R oxide particle, and an R oxide layer 9 formed on the surfaces of the R oxide particle principal mixture layer 7 opposite to the surfaces touching the glass principal layer.
