PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a light emitting element having a strong emission intensity, and capable of downsizing its space area and further obtaining an emission wavelength with a narrow half bandwidth. SOLUTION : The light emitting element 30 comprises a first dividing wall part 31 and a second dividing wall part 32 formed on a base substance 25, a first electrode 41 formed on a side wall 31B of the first dividing wall part 31, a second electrode 42 formed on a side wall 32B of the second dividing wall part 32, and a light emitting layer 50 formed on the base substance 25, and between the first electrode 41 and the second electrode 42. The light emitting layer 50 comprises a first material layer 51 contacting with the first electrode 41, a second material layer 52 contacting with the second electrode 42, and a quantum well layer 54 sandwiched by the first material layer 51 and the second material layer 52.
