PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a catalyst which is capable of reducing the discharge amount of hydrogen sulfide without requiring Ni and without greatly losing the exhaust gas cleaning performance when a ternary catalyst containing a noble metal coexists. SOLUTION : The hydrogen sulfide production suppression catalyst in the exhaust gas comprises at least one of rare earth elements selected from the group consisting of Nd and Pr as an effective component.
