PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for producing a rare earth alloy sintered compact by which a rare earth alloy sintered compact can be reutilized as the raw material more efficiently than the conventional one. SOLUTION : The production method includes a stage (a) wherein a rare earth alloy sintered compact is crushed by using a hydrocrushing method to produce first coase powder, a stage (b) wherein the first coase powder is pulverized to produce first fine powder, a stage (c) wherein an alloy lump of a rare earth alloy raw material is pulverized to produce second fine powder, a stage (d) wherein a powdery mixture of the first fine powder and the second fine powder is produced, and a stage (e) wherein the powdery mixture is sintered. Both the first fine powder and the second fine powder have the main phase having a composition expressed by (LR1-x HRx )2 T14 A (0<=x<1).
