PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a catalyst which is excellent in the selectivity of dialkanolamine in the amination reaction of alkylene oxide by ammonia. SOLUTION : This catalyst for producing dialkanolamine is used in the manufacture of dialkanolamine by the reaction between ammonia and alkylene oxide and features that the said catalyst comprises metallosilicate and carries rare earth element having the quantity of 10-100% of ion exchange equivalent of the metallosilicate. In particular, the metallosilicate is preferably MFI and/or an MFI structure. Thereby, the selectivity of dialkanolamine is improved and the life of the catalyst is prolonged.
