PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a rare-earth magnet having sufficient corrosion resistance and excellent heat resistance, and its manufacturing method.
SOLUTION : The rare-earth magnet 1 is provided with a magnet base body 3 and a protection layer 5 covering the surface of the magnet base body 3. The protection layer 5 is composed of an internal protection layer 9 and an external protection layer 8. The internal protection layer 9 is formed with a first layer 6 covering the magnet base body 3 and including rare-earth elements and a second layer 7 covering the first layer and having a content of the rare-earth elements smaller than that of the rare-earth element in the first layer. The external protection layer 8 includes an inorganic/organic hybrid compound including a structural unit composed of an organic molecule and a structural unit composed of an inorganic molecule, or includes at least one kind of resin selected from a group composed of a phenol resin, an epoxy resin, and a melamine resin.
