PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a pulse light source apparatus where a stable amplification light pulse train can be outputted. SOLUTION : The apparatus is provided with a pulse generation circuit 11 generating an electric continuous pulse string, a light source 10 which optically outputs the electric continuous pulse train as a signal light pulse train, and a first stage amplifier 12 and a second stage amplifier 13 which amplify and output the signal light pulse trains by using a rare earth addition optical fiber. The pulse generation circuit 11 is provided with a control unit 21 controlling reduction of output of first one or above electric pulses in the electric continuous pulse train corresponding to one or above amplification light pulses, so that first one or above amplification light pulses in the amplification light pulse train amplified/outputted from an output terminal 16 become optical output of not more than a threshold pulth at the time of generating the electric continuous pulse train.
