PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To realize an improvement in a corrosion resistance, a strength and the adhesion of a metallic film formed on a surface without resulting in the deterioration of magnetic characteristics.SOLUTION : A rare-earth permanent magnet has a sintered body having main-phase crystal grains composed of an R2T14B1 (where R represents at least one kind of rare-earth elements and T at least one kind of transition-metal elements) phase and a grain-boundary phase containing R more than the main-phase crystal grains. The sintered body contains R of 27 to 37 mass%, T of 60 to 75 mass%, B of 0.7 to 1.5 mass% and Ti of 0.001 to 0.03 mass%. The sintered body may also contain at least one kind of 0 to 0.6 mass% (where 0 mass% is not contained) selected from Al, Cu, Zr, Bi, Sn, Ga, Nb, Ta, Si, V, Ag and Ge. The metallic film may also be formed on the surface of the sintered body.COPYRIGHT : (C)2007, JPO&INPIT
