PURPOSE : An up-conversion optical fiber laser apparatus is provided to constrain the oscillation of wave length which has a big gain and to oscillate the desired wave length which has a small gain, by adjusting the reflexibility of a mirror and the length of an optical fiber, and to improve the output efficiency by using an extra optical fiber.
CONSTITUTION : An up-conversion optical fiber laser apparatus(50) comprises a pump laser source(53), a first resonator(57) and a second resonator(59). The pump laser source(53) outputs a predetermined wave length light. In a first optical fiber(55), one end is connected to the pump laser source(53) and the core is doped with rare earth elements to obtain wave lengths of light including a first wave length of light by up-conversion from the output light. The first resonator(57) is composed of a first mirror(56a) formed on one end of the first optical fiber(55) and a second mirror(56b) formed on the other end of the first optical fiber(55), selects the first wave length of light among wave lengths of light resonating at the first optical fiber(55) between the first mirror(56a) and the second mirror(56b) and outputs the selected light through the second mirror(56b). In a second optical fiber(58), one end is connected to the other end of the first optical fiber(55) and amplifies the output of the first wave length of light to be incident from the first resonator(57). The other wave lengths of light except the first wave length of light include the second wave lengths of light which has bigger gain per the length in comparison with the first wave length of light. The first optical fiber(55) and the second mirror(56b) have the high reflection rate to the first wave length of light in comparison with the second wave length of light. The first optical fiber(55) has a set length to oscillate the first wave length of light in comparison with the second wave length of light.
