PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method of producing a rare earth sintered magnet having a high mold strength and also having a high magnetic characteristic of a finally produced sintered magnet. SOLUTION : The method of producing a rare earth sintered magnet has steps of : crushing a raw material alloy powder to produce a pulverized powder; pressure-molding the pulverized powder in conjunction with applying a magnetic field to the pulverized powder to produce a molded body; and sintering the molded body; wherein a lubricant agent is added to the raw material alloy powder and/or the pulverized powder, the lubricant agent containing : a compound A represented by the general formula R1-CONH2 or R1-CONH-R3-HNCO-R1; and a compound B represented by any one of the group consisting of R2-OCO-R4, R2-OCO-R3-OH, R2-OH, and (R2-COO)mM; R1, R2 standing for CnH2n+1 or CnH2n-1, R3 for CnH2n, R4 for H or CnH2n+1, M for metal, and n and m for integers.
