PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a production method etc., of a rare earth sintered magnet capable of improving the orientation property in a compacting process in a magnetic field and enhancing the magnetic characteristics of the resultant sintered magnet. SOLUTION : After an alloy powder P is packed into a mortar die 11 up to its top surface 11f, the mortar die 11 is moved upward with respect to a lower punch 12 in the state of applying the magnetic field to the alloy powder P in a mortar die cavity C so that the top surface level of the alloy powder P is lower than a top end 18 of a yoke 18. In this state, the magnetic field is applied by a coil 15. As a result, the magnetic lines of force of a high parallelism is acted on the alloy powder P of the mortar die cavity C and the orientation property is enhanced. COPYRIGHT : (C)2007, JPO&INPIT
