PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To easily remove depositions including rare earth elements as the deformation of a fixture for sintering a rare earth magnet and adverse influence on a compact are suppressed.
SOLUTION : A fixture for sintering a rare earth magnet is exposed to an atmosphere containing water and heated to a temperature exceeding a room temperature. The water vapor pressure of the heated atmosphere is ≥10 kPa, preferably, ≥20 kPa, and, more preferably, ≥30 kPa. After the exposure of the fixture for sintering a rare earth magnet to the heated atmosphere, compressed air may be sprayed on the fixture for sintering a rare earth magnet. The compressed air may comprise hard grains. Further, the fixture for sintering a rare earth magnet used in a sintering stage for a rare earth magnet is exposed to an atmosphere containing water and heated to a temperature exceeding a room temperature, and is thereafter reused in the following sintering stage for a rare earth magnet.
