PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a sintering method where the deformation of compacts caused in a sintering stage in the case they are longitudinally placed can be suppressed.
SOLUTION : Regarding the method for sintering a rare earth magnet where, under a state in which a plurality of compacts G each composed of alloy powder having a prescribed composition are arranged within a vessel comprising a box body having a bottom floor and side walls 11b erected from the bottom floor and also having an opening part at the upper side, and a cover body for closing the opening part of the box body, they are heated and held, heat shielding bodies 5 whose heat conduction value Ct per unit area shown by formula (1) is ≤3, 500W/°C are arranged around the compacts G placed at the outermost circumferences. Ct=λ/t(W/°C) (1); wherein, λ is the heat conductivity (W/m×°C) of the material composing each heat shielding body, and t is the thickness (m) of each heat shielding body.
