PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a nickel-hydrogen storage battery with heightened density of capacity, which can be quickly charged with good efficiency.
SOLUTION : The nickel-hydrogen storage battery has a separator 13 interposed between a cathode 11 using a non-sintered nickel electrode and an anode 12 using hydrogen storage alloy, and houses an electrode body 10 formed by laminating a plurality of cathode and anodes in battery containers 20, 30. A hydrogen storage alloy expressed by Ln1-xMgxNiy-a-bAlaMb (in formula, Ln is one kind of element chosen from rare earth element including Y, Zr, and Ti; M is at least one kind of element chosen from V, Nb, Ta, Cr, Mo, Mn, Fe, Co, Ga, Zn, Sn, In, Cu, Si, P, B, and Zr; 0.05≤x≤0.35; 0.05≤a≤0.30; 0≤b≤0.5; 2.8≤y-a-b≤3.9). The battery is designed so that the thickness of the cathode becomes 0.3 mm or thinner, that of the anode becomes 0.2 mm or thinner, and the density of capacity becomes 170 mAh/cm3 or larger.
