A phosphor which is excited by a blue light and emits a yellow light has been conventionally known as a SiAlON phosphor wherein a rare earth element such as Eu ion is activated. The present invention provides an oxynitride phosphor having emission characteristics of more various wavelengths and a light-emitting device using such an oxynitride phosphor.
