PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an oxide superconducting magnet which can generate a large magnetic field by applying electric current from outside.
SOLUTION : The superconducting magnet has a plurality of layers of spiral coils having a structure of finely dispersed RE2BaCuO5 in a single crystal type REBa2Cu3O7-X phase (RE are rare earth elements including Y and their combinations). In a hollow at the edge of each spiral coil, a component having the REBa2Cu3O7-X phase, which is a superconductor having a lower Tf (generation temperature of the REBa2Cu3O7-X phase) than that of the coil conductor, at least has a part which is configured by having a superconducting connection.
