PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an alloy powder used for making a magnet having excellent magnetic properties.SOLUTION : This invention provides an R-T-B alloy powder in which a particle surface is covered with an R concentrated layer comprising at least one rare earth element of Nd, Pr, Dy, and Tb, and the content of the rare earth element in the R concentrated layer is in the range of 20 atom% or more and 32 atom% or less.
