PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To suppress the generation of magnetic field bending in a molding space, and to solve the defect of orientation in the outer circumferential part. SOLUTION : Dies (an upper die 1 and a lower die 2) composed of a ferromagnetic material are arranged at the upper part and the lower part of a molding space C. Left and right punches 3, 4 moving almost to the horizontal direction to the dies and pressurizing rare earth magnet raw material powder almost to the horizontal direction, and magnetic field applying means (upper and lower coils 5, 6) of each applying a magnetic field to almost the vertical direction to the rare earth magnet raw material powder in the molding space via the dies are provided. On at least a part of the circumference at least in the horizontal direction of the molding space, a nonmagnetic material or a feeble magnetic material is arranged in contact with the compacting space. For example, both the side parts 2c in a slide groove 2a composing the compacting space in the lower die 2 are made of a nonmagnetic material (feeble magnetic material). COPYRIGHT : (C)2006, JPO&NCIPI
