PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an inexpensive magnesium alloy which has improved casting quality such as heat resistance and castability and is cast with a gravity casting method, and to provide a treatment method therefor.SOLUTION : The magnesium alloy comprises 7 to 12.6 mass% of aluminum, 3 to 6 mass% of a rare earth element, 0.05 to 0.5 mass% of manganese and the balance being magnesium and unavoidable impurities; and is sequentially solution-heat-treated and artificially aged.COPYRIGHT : (C)2006, JPO&NCIPI
