The invention relates to a re-usable nursing bottle and teat assembly for feeding infants which sucker, including humans and animals. The present invention provides a teat (12) for a nursing bottle (10), and a teat (12) in combination with a nursing bottle (10), the teat (12) having a flange (18) forming a flap valve with a wall (16) or mouth of the bottle (10) wherein the sealing surface (20) of the flap valve is directly forced against the wall (16) or the mouth of the nursing bottle (10).
