PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To obtain a phosphor that extends an absorption wavelength for phosphor excitation and has a high absorption coefficient of light even without using ultraviolet luminescence. SOLUTION : In the phosphor comprising oxides of gallium, aluminum, indium, etc., as a matrix, the phosphor contains an oxide of a rare earth element such as Eu2+ as a luminescent agent and at least a part of the oxide is partially sulfurized.
