PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an lighting system radiating light of magenta color in which the light with components of red color is in the best range, provides a wide selection of light emitting substances and with no variation due to passage of time in color tone.SOLUTION : The lighting system comprises a discharge lamp with an arc tube 10 of translucent ceramics and a reflecting mirror 2 and Illuminated objects are lit by the light reflected from the reflecting mirror 2. The discharge lamp 1 has thallium, sodium and at least one type of rare earth metal sealed in the arc tube 10 as the light emitting substance and the lamp is lit at color temperature of 2, 500 to 3, 000 K. The reflecting mirror 2 has a reflecting film 21 formed on a reflecting surface and the reflecting surface 21 is provided with a first reflecting peak in a wave length range of 360 to 380 nm and a second reflecting peak in a wave length range of 600 to 650 nm which is higher than the first reflecting peak.COPYRIGHT : (C)2006, JPO&NCIPI
