PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To produce a small ring magnet having high characteristics and suitable as a magnet for the shutter of a camera, for example. SOLUTION : A resin coating 3 is formed on the surface of a magnet element, i.e. a ring-like rare earth sintered magnet 1. Coating is repeated a plurality of times while controlling the thickness of single coating to 1 μm or less. For example, coating is performed by atomizing resin solution in mist shape. Coating is repeated ten time or more. The resin is epoxy resin, for example. The small ring magnet is a ring-like rare earth sintered magnet having a weight of 1 g or less.
