PURPOSE : A method for preparing star branched polybutadiene having a high 1, 4-cis content is provided to reduce the viscosity of a reaction solution during the preparation of the polymer, and to improve the processability and productivity, while maintaining mechanical properties.
CONSTITUTION : The method for preparing star branched polybutadiene having a high 1, 4-cis content comprises the steps of : polymerizing 1, 3-butadiene or butadiene derivative in the presence of a nonpolar solvent by using a catalyst comprising an organic acid salt of a rare earth metal, a halogen-containing compound and an organoaluminum compound to obtain a linear polymer having a high 1, 4-cis content of at least 95%%; and adding to the product of the preceding step, at least one compound selected from trifunctional or higher functional tin halogen compounds, isocyanate compounds and acylhalogen compounds, further introducing active polybutadiene having a high 1, 4-cis content thereto, and carrying out reaction to obtain star branched polybutadiene having a high 1, 4-cis content.
