PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method where two phase separation type rare earth-transition metal-nitrogen based magnet powder in which an amorphous phase is formed around the main phase of a rare earth-transition metal-nitrogen based alloy, and having high magnetic properties can be efficiently produced, to provide a composition for a bond magnet using the same, and to provide the bond magnet.
SOLUTION : Regarding the method for producing rare earth-transition metal-nitrogen based magnet powder obtained by subjecting rare earth-transition metal based alloy powder to nitriding treatment and expressed by the general formula : RaFe(100-a-b-c)MbNc {R denotes a rare earth element(s); and M denotes a transition metal element(s) selected from Cu, Mn, Co, Cr, Ti, Ni and Zr}, at the time when the alloy powder is subjected to the nitriding, a first nitriding stage where the alloy powder is nitrided at 270 to 650°C in a nitrogen-containing atmosphere including gaseous nitrogen or an ammonia-hydrogen gaseous mixture, so as to form the main phase of a rare earth-transition metal-nitrogen based alloy, and a second nitriding stage where, successively, the same is nitrided under reaction conditions sufficient for forming an amorphous phase around the main phase of the alloy are included.
