STEEL FOR MANUFACTURING GRAPHITE STEEL HAVING GOOD GRAPHITIZING PROPERTY

PURPOSE : A steel with good graphitizing property for graphite steel is provided to shorten the graphitization time by 7 minutes and to execute graphitization without generating process load before or after a cutting process. CONSTITUTION : A steel with good graphitizing property for graphite steel consists of C(Carbon) of 0.30~0.70wt%, Si(Silicon) of 2.0~4.0wt%, Mn(Manganese) of 0.1~1.0wt%, P(Phosphorus) of 0.01~0.15wt%, S(Sulfur) below 0.01wt%, Se(Selenium) of 0.001~0.05wt%, Ti(Titanium) of 0.001~0.03wt%, B(Boron) of 0.001~0.003wt%, Al(Aluminum) of 0.002~0.01wt%, N(Nitrogen) of 0.004~0.008wt%, O(Oxygen) below 0.005wt%, the residual Fe(Iron), and other impurities. Ti, N, B, and Al satisfy the following formula, 2.0<=(Ti+5B+Al)/N<=5.5 and Mn, Se, and S satisfy the formula, 1.0<=(Mn/5+Se)/5S<=3.0. In addition, the steel includes at least one or two kinds of elements selected from a group comprising Ni(Nickel) of 0.05~1.0wt%, Cu(Copper) of 0.01~0.5wt%, Ca(Calcium) of 0.0001~0.05wt%, Zr(Zirconium) of 0.005~0.008wt%, and REM(Rare Earth Metal). © KIPO 2006
