Precursor composition for YBCO-based superconductors

PURPOSE : A precursor composition required for preparing a coating solution for the preparation of YBCO-based superconductor is provided to show long term storability, require no further pre-treatment, and be able to be immediately used for preparing the coating solution. CONSTITUTION : The powder precursor composition is a mixture of salts of RE, Ba and Cu and organic compounds where RE is at least one rare earth element including yttrium, the atomic ratio of RE, Ba and Cu is 1 : 2 : 3, and at least in case of Ba the organic compound contains fluorine. In the composition, RE and Cu are present in the form of trifluoroacetate, 6, 6, 7, 7, 8, 8, 8-heptafluoro-2, 2-dimethyl-3, 5-octanedionate(fod), or acetate. © KIPO 2006
