PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a cellulose acylate film which has small optical anisotropy (Re, Rth), has optical isotropy, and also has small wavelength dispersion of optical anisotropy (Re, Rth), and to provide especially a cellulose acylate film which has a small amount of the optical anisotropy reducer added and has small optical anisotropy, and to further provide optical materials such as an optical compensation film and a polarizing plate having excellent optical characteristics, and a liquid crystal display using the cellulose acylate film. SOLUTION : The cellulose acylate film has a front retardation value (unit : nm) of 0≤Re(630)≤10|Rth(630)|≤25 and a retardation value in the film thickness direction of |Re(400)-Re(700)|≤10 and |Rth(400)-Rth(700)|≤35, and a quantity of residual sulfuric acid (as a content of sulfur element) is 30-150 ppm.
