PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a highly reliable remote monitoring system for a water purification plant.
SOLUTION : Water supply system machines M, such as a water gauge, a flowmeter, and a pump operation monitor are installed in waterworks water purification facilities. Each water supply system machine M is connected to a communication satellite terminal 10. Data measured by each water supply system machine M are sent as signals in various forms, such as analog output, digital output, and serial output. Among the signals, the signal in a form of the serial output (telegraphic signal) is inputted into the communication satellite terminal 10 after converting the signal into a serial port signal through a communication conversion unit, and the signals in the forms of the analog and digital outputs are directly inputted into the communication satellite terminal 10. These signals are batch-converted to a serial port signal in the communication satellite terminal 10, and sent to a monitor center 60 from the communication satellite terminal 10 through a low-earth-orbit communication satellite 20 as one signal at the same time. Data received in the monitor center 60 is shown on a personal computer screen, and the waterworks water purification facilities are remotely monitored with the data.
