PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an optical fiber adapted to emit optical signal amplification using a rare-earth element and optical signal amplification caused by non-linear Raman Effect at the same time. SOLUTION : The optical fiber has a clad doped with a first element, the first element being a rare-earth element, and a core having a second element to induce a nonlinear Raman phenomenon, wherein a pumping light traveling along the core is amplified into a first band by the first element of the clad and Raman-amplified into a second band by the second element.
