PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a cold-cathode fluorescent lamp with quick rising of brightness, capable of obtaining sufficient quantity of light, in exchange for an existing cold-cathode lamp which contains mercury as a discharging medium and requires much time until rising of brightness, of which environmental problems of mercury are left unsettled, therefore the existing cold-cathode lamp is refrained from using, and the use of rare gas as a discharging medium is promoted in exchange for mercury, however, it is difficult to obtain a sufficient light amount because of a short resonant wavelength and low visible light conversion efficiency.
SOLUTION : N2, or a mixture of N2 and rare gas is used as a discharging medium enclosed in a glass tube 11.
